An interesting article from the people at ESRI:
“What would happen if the earth’s rotation slowed down and finally stopped spinning over a period of a few decades? ArcGIS lets us model the effects of this scenario, performing calculations and estimations and creating a series of maps showing the effects the absence of centrifugal force would have on sea level.”

One of our authors wrote, when describing who would read his book: “The book will be accessible and of interest to any ordinary literate person who is interested in literature…” So… if you like to read and are literate, you will like this. That’s a pretty broad statement.

Kickstarter - Vuvuzelas for BP
BP is not feeling the pain they are causing in the Gulf. BP is spending millions on PR. In order to put a bit of public pressure on them, we plan to buy 100 vuvuzelas and hire 100 vuvuzela players off Craigslist to play in front of BP’s International Headquarters in London for an entire work day. Ideally, the players will keep coming back every day until they fix the gusher.
